On 17 September, PFL staff members, their families and friends, took part in Beachwatch, a national beach cleaning initiative run by the Marine Conservation Society. PFL has been organising a cleaning event on a beach adjacent to the port for 11 years.  The event helps to promote environmental awareness among port employees.

PFL organised two further activities for its Go Green campaign this year. The first involved recycling waste materials, in this case cable drums that were turned into furniture.  Suffolk-based furniture makers took part in this campaign. The second involved planting trees by the entrance of the port.
