Activities

Apart from tree-planting events, members in the Hutchison Ports network carried out related activities to give deeper meanings to the central theme this year, of which some are featured below:

• Huizhou Port Industrial Corporation cleared up the weeds and dressed the soil at the Huizhou Quanwan living area, general cargo terminal and oil terminals.

• Hutchison Ports BEST went on a guided tour to the wetland close to the terminal where detailed explanation of the whole delta and surroundings was given to staff.

• Hutchison Ports Ajman invited local kids to join an awareness programme with a drawing competition of the UAE national tree, and a presentation about tree-planting and how it impacts the environment globally was conducted by students from a local university to all the participants.

• Hutchison Ports BACTSSA attended a presentation by the government official of a local green reserve on the importance and impact of their activities.

• Hutchison Ports RAK organised an awareness presentation conducted by students from a local university inside the terminal.

• HPH Trust organised fun workshops for their Hong Kong staff on how to make creative potted plants to add green to the office and their home.

• Hutchison Ports Sohar hosted an environmental science lab event for local students to teach them how to do planting and take care of plants by making homemade manure.
