Europe Container Terminals

On 19 September, a joint marine clean-up was organised in Rotterdam with participation from HPH business unit ECT as well as the local business units from APM Terminals, DP World and PSA. The activity was held in conjunction with NGO Recycled Park.

Recycled Park is the initiative of the Recycled Island Foundation and WHIM architecture to retrieve the plastic pollution from the New Meuse river before it reaches the sea. The retrieved plastic is recycled and used to make floating blocks to form a floating park.

Trash was collected from the waterside, to prevent the tide washing it out to sea, and floating trash was also collected. The participants were spilt into groups to clean-up at the New Meuse and other locations around the city.
