Myanmar International Terminals Thilawa

MITT launched a tree planting activity on 21 September at a state primary school located near the terminal, with participation from 100 students and teachers. MITT staff visited the school prior to the activity to clear rubbish and make room for the trees. The plants were bought and donated by MITT staff. The students, divided into four teams, worked together to plant 65 Mimusops and various other shady trees along the inside fence of the school premises. A garden was also planted at the school’s entrance. 100 MIT staff volunteered for the activity. MITT staff will continue to visit the school to water, weed and trim the trees as they grow, encouraging the students to take up these tasks on a regular basis.
