TICTS staff planted 250 trees together with students at Kurasini Secondary School – located in the same district as the port – to teach them about the importance of environmental conservation. The trees were planted around the school’s football pitch with the dual function of providing shade for students when watching matches. The fast-growing drought-resistant Moringa trees will also prevent soil erosion on the field during the rainy season. The activity took place on 19 September.
